I. Purpose

The Nuvio Recovery Chiller is specifically designed to cool the temperature of any water up to 300L for cold plunges to the optimal level to maximise cold therapy benefits.

II. Features

Temperature Control: Set your desired water temperature using the touchscreen interface. The chiller monitors the water temperature and adjusts its cooling function to maintain the set temperature.

Built-In Thermometer: Provides real-time temperature readings, displayed on the Chiller screen, allowing users to monitor and adjust settings as needed.

Remote Control: The remote allows you to power the chiller on and off, as well as adjust the temperature settings to increase or decrease as needed.

Continuous Operation: It is safe to operate continuously, 24 hours a day. While the chiller can be left running indefinitely, we recommend turning it off every 7 days to optimize system efficiency.

Universal Compatibility: Designed to work seamlessly with any ice bath or bathtub, ensuring easy integration into your existing setup.

Operating Temperature Range: Designed to be versatile, it maintains its efficiency across a broad ambient temperature range from 39°F to 104°F, accommodating various climates and indoor conditions.

III. Operation Process

Connection and Setup: Initially, set up the chiller adjacent to the water container, ensuring it is positioned on a stable, level surface for optimal operation. Utilize the provided external pump and hoses to establish a connection between the chiller and the tub, securing all connections tightly to prevent leaks.

Warm Water Extraction and Cooling Cycle Initiation: The operation cycle commences with the external pump, once connected to the chiller, actively drawing warm water from the tub. This water is directed into the chiller, where the cooling process begins. The pump plays a crucial role in both extracting the warm water and later circulating the cooled water back into the tub.

Cooling: As the warm water enters the chiller, it is rapidly cooled to the user-defined temperature. This cooling process is efficiently managed by the chiller's advanced cooling system, designed to reach temperatures as low as 39°F, depending on the user's preference.

Recirculation: After the water has been cooled to the desired temperature, the same pump facilitates the recirculation of this chilled water back into the tub. This continuous cycle of drawing warm water, cooling it, and returning it chilled ensures a consistent and effective cold therapy experience.

Temperature Maintenance: The chiller is equipped with a built-in thermometer that constantly monitors the water temperature. It displays real-time temperature readings on the touchscreen interface. The system automatically adjusts its cooling function to maintain the set temperature, pausing the cooling process when the target is reached and reactivating as necessary to counteract any warming of the water.

VII. Precautions

1. Do not place the chiller outdoors if it is raining.

2. Try to install the chiller in a cool and shaded area, avoiding damp, dusty, or other adverse environments.

3. Ensure a stable and sturdy placement for the chiller.

4. Maintain a gap of 20 inches between the chiller's front and back and walls or other objects, with a 8 inches gap on the

sides for proper air circulation during operation. When indoor air circulation is insufficient, the heat generated during

the chiller's operation will raise the surrounding temperature, affecting the cooling effect.

5. Do not cover the chiller while in use, and avoid shaking or striking the machine.

6. The circulating water volume is determined by the maximum head of the water pump (submersible pump or external

tank filter) and the circulation equipment.

7. The cooling effect may vary due to factors such as installation location, surrounding heat sources, pipe length, water

pump, filter, and other various connection accessories. To avoid affecting the optimal performance of each model,

please use the water pumps and standard accessories provided with this chiller series.

8. Before initial use, thoroughly clean and rinse the water pipes. Be sure to circulate fresh water through the chiller's inlet and outlet for one hour, as there may be a small amount of protective oil that can cause protein foam leaks and discomfort for the aquatic life. Be sure to circulate the water for an extended period.

VIII. Installation Methods

1. Positioning the Chiller:

Place the chiller next to your recovery pod or bathtub.

2. Preparing the Tubes:

Insert the two black valve connectors into one end of each tube.

Add a rubber washer to each valve connector.

3. Connecting the Tubes to the Chiller:

Slide the black screw connector over the valve.

Screw it onto the chiller.

4. Securing the Tubes:

Slide a metal fixing over each tube.

Screw it tight to prevent the tube from leaking.

5. Attaching the Water Pump:

Attach the water pump to one end of a tube.

Fully submerge the water pump into the water.

6. Activating the Water Pump:

Plug in the water pump to turn it on.

Watch the water flow out of the one tube.

7. Powering the Chiller:

Plug in the power cable.

Switch on the chiller.

8. Setting the Temperature:

Press the 'Set' button.

Hold the down arrow to select a temperature.

Begin cooling.

9. Ready for Use:

Let the temperature drop.

Take the plunge.

Repeat these steps as necessary to ensure proper setup and operation.

10. Change the temperature scale

To change the temperature scale from Celcius to Fahrenheit:

1. Hold both the 'MODE' & 'SET' button at the same time

2. Press the 'MODE' button

3. Press the up arrow button to change Fahrenheit

4. After selecting, click the 'MODE' button again

IX. Troubleshooting

Before sending the chiller for repair when encountering the following issues, please try the following troubleshooting measures:

Display screen not turning on

  • Check the power cable is securely connected to the chiller and plugged into a power supply
  • Check the power supply switch and the switch on the chiller are turned on
  • Ensure your power supply suits 110V

Water not coming out of tube when chiller is on and the temperature is set

  • Ensure the pump is fully submerged and is plugged into a power supply & the vent is open (twist the vent to open/close)
  • Ensure the rubber port stoppers have been removed from the ports on the chiller before securing the tubes on
  • Check the tubes are not twisted or have any folds in them

Water temperature is not dropping fast enough (by less than 2°F per hour)

  • Check that water is flowing out of one of the tubes - if not, check point above
  • Ensure sufficient ventilation - leave at least 20 inches space around the chiller and do not enclose in any container
  • Ensure your air temperature does not exceed 85°F - use it in the coolest place possible (indoors if your climate is hot)
  • Make sure the Water Volume does not exceed 80 Gallons - if it does, try removing some water
